Some of the most memorable experiences of school can take place outside the classroom walls! At Heights, we maximize opportunities for our students to have interesting and engaging experiences both in and out of the classroom.
Yoga
All of our classes that meet at least three days per week enjoy a weekly 30 minute yoga class – with all materials provided! Yoga helps children develop strong, flexible bodies, a sense of balance and coordination, and a feeling of confidence and grace in their movements.
Our yoga classes are led by a certified yoga instructor. Similar to our approach in the classroom, even yoga is taught through the lens of play. Children learn yoga poses in fun and creative ways, like pretending to be animals in a jungle, using their imaginations to act out stories with their body movements. Yoga class ends with a quiet reflection time.
Outdoor Activity + Nature
We get outside every day we can, and our classrooms include plants and even pets. Sushi and Kiwi are guinea pigs who live in our Pre-K class! Our school grounds include a beautiful outdoor play area for the students to get fresh air and big body movement each day. If it’s too cold to go outside, students enjoy playing in the gym!
Extended Day
We offer an extended school day option for our morning classes, extending the day until 1:00pm. At 11:30, when the morning students go home, our extended day friends enjoy a packed lunch from home before continuing their school day with one of our amazing teachers. The extended day option is great for busy parents and also helps students prepare for the longer school day they’ll have in Kindergarten.
